After 16 rounds of chemotherapy designed to destroy his existing bone marrow, Matt underwent a bone marrow transplant in October of 2005. The procedure is risky and carries no guarantee of success. However, Matt has never been less than optimistic. After nearly three years he was finally feeling strong enough to return to the mountains. He plans to raise money for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle and hopes that other people with serious illness can be motivated and inspired by his incredible recovery. He is writing a book about his experience.

Please help us to continue filming Matt's amazing recovery and to help him achieve his goal of climbing Pumori this Fall.
